Sponsorship from PDQ / The PowerShell Podcast!

This week, I got confirmation from PDQ that they will sponsor me and my website! Exciting news, and honored! PDQ does a lot of things for the community through its PowerShell Podcast, The PowerShell Wednesday, PDQ Live, and r/PDQ on Reddit. In this blog post, I will tell you all about it 🙂

What is PDQ?

It’s a software company, and PDQ stands for “Device management that’s simple, secure, and Pretty Damn Quick.” They offer a few products, but the most popular is PDQ Connect, a cloud-native, agent-based tool that helps IT teams manage both remote and local devices. It is used to deploy software, remediate vulnerabilities, and provide remote access when needed. Some people use it alongside Intune because it supports remote desktop, PowerShell commands, and package automation.

Why does PDQ sponsor this site?

After the previous sponsorship ended (see the next chapter for more information), I sought a company closely aligned with the PowerShell community, and PDQ was the clear choice. I was on the PowerShell Podcast twice in the past, met Andrew Pla (Fellow PowerShell MVP) in person for the first time at this year’s PSConfEU, and reached out to him on LinkedIn a while back to see whether it was an option for his company. And… It was! :-D.

Because PDQ believes in educating and empowering people in IT, especially around PowerShell, they wanted to support me because it was a natural fit. Like them, I’m doing the kind of work that helps many people, and based on the comments and messages I receive, people appreciate PowerShell and the blogs I write!

For all you people that didn’t know already, PDQ releases a PowerShell Podcast episode every week (The PowerShell Podcast | Podcast on Spotify/ The PowerShell Podcast | PDQ Website ), but they also have PowerShell Wednesday (2 PM ET, PowerShell Wednesday | YouTube) and PDQ Live on every Thursday (PDQ Live | YouTube )

Can’t stress this enough, I’m pleased with this sponsorship; it means a lot to me and gives me even more energy to keep blogging every week about all things PowerShell and its incredible community!

Previous sponsorship

But I can’t write a blog post about my new sponsor without mentioning my previous one, which I had for about 2,5 years, ScriptRunner! In April 2023, after pausing Google Ads on my page and saying I was seeking a sponsor, they responded promptly to my LinkedIn post. They hosted many community events and a podcast, which I was part of, and I want to thank them for that! The Scriptember events were epic, and the PowerShell Saturday at their office location was one to remember! (Did my first talk as a speaker there!)

Plans

We discussed plans, and those are:

  • Starting today, you will see a banner on the right side of my website (In Desktop mode, not on mobile) from PDQ. You can click it to be redirected to their website and their products. I recommend doing so because it is an excellent addition to your existing management tools, such as Intune.
  • Guest blogs on the PDQ website
  • Interviews and videos

And more, I will keep you posted 🙂

Wrapping up

And that’s it, I’m happy to have been able to share this fantastic news with you and have a lovely weekend!
