It’s almost Scriptember!

I’m happy to announce that I will be part of Scriptember! It’s a new event dedicated to celebrating PowerShell and the incredible community that surrounds it! In this blog post, I will give details about it!

What is Scriptember?

“Scriptember is an online campaign that aims to bring together PowerShell enthusiasts from around the globe to share knowledge, improve skills, and celebrate the diverse and dynamic community. Whether you are a seasoned PowerShell pro or just getting started, Scriptember offers something for everyone.”

Highlights

There will be multiple events during Scriptember, and I’m happy to appear in four of them! (Check the calendar here.) I’m looking forward to “The Story of PowerShell—A Conversation with the Inventor of PowerShell, Jeffrey Snover.” He started PowerShell with his team, and we wouldn’t be here without them!

However, I also look forward to the “Shorten the Code” contest I saw for the first time at PSConfEU. It is so much fun to be creative to reduce an existing PowerShell script to the lowest amount of characters possible while keeping the script working 🙂 (Xavier Clinquart from the Belgian PowerShell User Group will bring this contest to Scriptember)

And then there are conversations with:

  • MVP Doug Finke
  • MVP Damian Scoles
  • PowerShell Trainer Bruno Buyck

Blog series from:

  • Dr. Tobias Weltner
  • MVP Aleksander Nikolić

Giveaways:

  • PowerShell books
  • Star Wars Lego sets
  • And more

And… I will do three “PowerShell is fun” streams in September/Scriptember with Heiko Brenn from ScriptRunner. Check the calendar link above for the dates!

A special note from ScriptRunner

As the leading PowerShell-centric IT automation platform, ScriptRunner is proud to introduce Scriptember. We believe in the power of automation to transform IT operations and are committed to empowering the PowerShell community. Throughout the month, we will be offering product demos, new PowerShell cheat sheets and resources to help you get the most out of PowerShell and ScriptRunner. In addition, our latest ScriptRunner release 7.1 will be launched during Scriptember.

We would also like to thank our Scriptember sponsors and supporters. Packt, Leanpub, and Manning Publications provide PowerShell-related print books and e-books as prizes for our PowerShell challenges and quizzes. PSConfEU and the Belgian PowerShell User Group (BEPUG) also help us make the event possible.

See you there!

I hope you will follow the event for all the great content that will emerge from it. I am happy to be part of it, and I look forward to seeing you there!
