Another milestone! This website has reached 500.000 visitors and 750.000 views. In this blog post, I will highlight a few moments from when I started writing in April 2022 until now.

Why?
Yes, why? What’s the fun in writing blog posts? Well, sharing is caring, and I like to write things. It comes in handy for me when I want to show procedures or when I forget how to do certain things. 😀 And… it helps keep my MVP status, and I’m very proud of becoming a PowerShell MVP last year!
Changes throughout the years
The first few blogs were smaller, the outline was somewhat different, and I made many spelling/grammar mistakes. Luckily, Grammarly is there, and it helps! (I would recommend it 10/10!) And in the first year, I wrote many random fun things between the more serious posts. It’s a bit more serious now 😉
The layout of the blog posts changed with a clear excerpt, table of contents, the blog post itself, the script, and a link to the GitHub page. Makes it easy to read, got feedback from you readers about that 🙂
My GitHub page grew, with more than 500 Stars and 125 forks. First, I thought sharing the script on the site would be enough, but GitHub was a multiplier and allowed people to do Pull Requests to improve it.
The logo was a significant change, too. I’m awful at drawing things, but I received the logo with the help of Fiverr, which you can see now at the top of the pages. It’s the PowerShell logo as a face, simple, clean, and recognizable!
Also, the change from using Google Ads to having a sponsor pay all the hosting bills from WordPress (https://www.scriptrunner.com) was a good one. My site is much cleaner than with Google Ads between the text of the blog posts.
Feedback
Receiving feedback is the thing I like the most. It helps me make better scripts and write better and clearer blog posts, and I learned so much more about best practices, new modules that I had never heard of before, etc. The PowerShell community is great to be in!
And… I receive a log of messages from colleagues or fellow MVPs who bump into my blogs or comment on TechCommunity, and I am happy to help them with their questions.
Future
And will I continue writing blogs? YES! It keeps me investigating and trying new things and gives me feedback to continue growing. #WinWin I’m thinking about creating a new category/monthly blog post with a question that will be answered in the post. That could be anything, such as helping you finish a script, giving feedback, etc. Stay tuned 😀
Wrapping up
Another milestone has been reached. Thank you all for visiting my site! See you in the next blog 😀
